Noctis (OU) | Jailynn

Warnings: blood, death, injured child
Themes: friendship, duty, responsibility

Memory One You are sat behind a machine, what seems to be a vending machine. You have to stay hidden, you can hear soldiers all around. Getting closer, moving further away. You can't be caught...

You roll the can of Ebony in your hands, breathing, thinking. You need to find Prompto. You need to find everyone.

But for now you need to hide, just until you are rested enough to continue ownward.

Memory Two You look at Prompto and then more sheepishly up to Ignis and Gladio, fully expecting a lecture about responsibility. After all, hanging out in an arcade with your friend isn't exactly the dutiful thing to do.

You are surprised then when they join you, your adviser and bodyguard. The four of you try out the games, you and Prompto with a competitiveness that is fitting for seventeen year old boys having a day off school.

For the first time you feel... Normal. Just a kid friends, playing games. Having the time of your life.

Memory Three Fire and smoke fill the scene, Noctis- here a boy of eight and a woman are running from a monster. She has her arms around him tightly as they run. They are not fast enough, the monster cuts her down and they both fall.

Noctis lies in blood, looking up at the monster. The Marilith has six scythe limbs and towers above the two of them, Noctis frozen in fear, the woman still and unmoving.

The monster is struck by flying knives as a man, Noctis' father, steps up to battle. As they fight Noctis looks on, his eyelids flickering as he fights unconsciousness, wondering if his father could be proud of him? Will he grow up to be the son his father deserves? Or is this the end... His eyes close.
