Forgive me if I misread. But he would be standing as near to the Engine as anyone can get. From the setting page I am led to believe this is an unbroken wall in the storage carriage where a connection between cars normally would be.

TL;DR: Standing guard over the Voidtrecker Express engine. At least as near as anyone can ICly get to it.
