Peter Parker | Kinz
Themes: Family, having heroes, being a hero
Memory One "You should not be here."
You face Iron Man, who removes his helmet as he lectures you.
"I know what you're going to say!" You shrug, "I was going to go home but it's such a long way down and..."
"And not I've got to hear it..."
You keep talking, digging your hole deeper. You'd been stuck to the side of the ship, now you were inside the ship. You are on a space ship. And...
"And this suit is ridiculously intuitive by the way, so if anything, it's kind of your fault."
Tony looks at you. You pause. Ah. Maybe... Not the best thing to say. "I take that back."
"Don't tell me you thought this through."
"I did think this through."
"You can't possible have thought this through." You argue back and forth for a while.
"How can I be a friendly neighbourhood spiderman, if there's no neighbourhood..."
That seems to stop Tony in his tracks and you stare at each other for a moment. "Alright." You concede, "That didn't really make sense but you know what I'm saying..."
Tony sighs, it looks like you are staying. There's a job to do.
The two of you look down at where a man being held captive, spikes teasing at his face.
"Alright." You look up at Tony. "You ever seen this really old movie, Aliens?"
A plan is born, you jump into the fight, to rescue Doctor Strange.
Memory Two You are a small boy, looking out of an Iron man mask, dressed in a stark industry jacket. Everything around you is chaos. An attack, screams, frightened people.
A drone comes towards you, straight towards you are you are frozen in fear. But then...
He is here. Iron Man! Your hero! Right here and he has you, you are saved. You are safe.
Memory Three It’s night time, there are few street lights illuminating the area nearby a house with a bunch of teens hanging around and two people are moving down the sidewalk. The smaller seems intent on dragging his feet as the taller has a hold of his sleeve. It doesn’t take long to recognize Peter Parker-he’s a little little younger than present day but he’s still got the same curly hair and same expression he always has when he’s irritated. Neither Peter nor the man dragging him by the arm seem very happy. The man is wearing glasses and has dark, slightly curly hair a little like Peter’s.
“Stop it! I can walk myself, you’re embarrassing me!” Peter protests, still trying to get the man to let go. He doesn’t until they’re a little further away from the house party.
“How can you do that to May?” He finally demands. “Leave and stay out all night? You’re fourteen years old, Peter. And with all the tragedy in our family? To leave like that.” He berates, Peter stopping and just looking down at his feet, now feeling dejected. “Really, Peter, How can you do that to the woman!?”
“I don’t know…” Peter answers, not looking at the man.
“What’s wrong with you lately?” The man asks. “Something’s going on. This isn’t you.”
“I-I don’t know…” Peter repeats. The man takes a in a breath, staring at the teen in front of him before letting out sigh.
“Oh, Peter.. You’re such-really-you’re such a good kid. Such a bright-no, more than bright, you’re as smart as they come.” The man states. “And this-this is just stupid. You know, your father, rest his soul, your father had a philosophy that he held to pretty strongly. And it’s one that served him very very well.” Peter looks up at that, he always does when his father is mentioned.
“He believed that if there were things in this world that you had to offer, things that you did well-- better than anyone else, things that you could do that helped people of made them feel better about themselves… well he believed that it wasn’t just a good idea to do those things… he believed it was your responsibility to do those things.” Peter bites down on his lip as the guilt wells up. “Don’t try to be something else, don’t try to be less. Great things are going to happen to you and your life Peter. Great things. And with that will come great responsibility, do you understand?”
Peter takes a breath, and tries to fight the anger rising at the mention of great things. Yeah Right, Uncle Ben.
“Great responsibility.” Ben says it again and Peter snaps.
“My father?” He repeats, anger leaking into his words. “If he knew so much then where the fuck is he!?” He demands, tears threatening to all as he just turns and runs away from his uncle. Sometime later, he returns home but there’s an ambulance outside the small house and several police cars. The Paramedics are carrying a body out of the house and Peter feels a sharp sense of dread.
