It's a book that's handmade with a wooden back and cover, everything held together with tough string. The papers have been roughly cut, and come from a time before printing. The writing looks like this, and there are hand drawn illustrations for plants or other ingredients mentioned. It makes reference to times to someone called 'Yevon' in a religious sense, giving thanks and blessings.

The potions are made with extensive brewing of a various of medicinal herbs (and sometimes other ingredients), as well as using one's magic. Potions are considered unsafe for those who are the undead forced alive again by magic, or been inflicted by such a spell. Basically, no good for zombies.

Mega-Potion: moderate heal to group
Ethers: small MP recovery
Turbo Ethers: moderate MP recovery
Antidote: Cures poison
Soft: Cures petrification
Eye Drops: Cures magic-inflicted blindness
Echo Screen: Cures silence
Holy Water: Cures zombification

( Note: The book is less for making the potions and so that people know what goes into the potions in general as they're used in mission supplies. )
