Character Shenanigans!

Sometimes things happen that may have consequences further down the line. Sometimes characters decide to do things that might have immidiate reprecussion. As mods we want to have our fingers on the pulse of the game as it were, but we are also aware that we won't be able to read every single thing!

So that's where this post comes in. If your character has done something 'noticable' that you think we might need to know about, throw us a link here. Some might require a response, some will just be noted.

Example: "Over *here* my character is trying to smash the windows of the engine!"

Sometimes you might have an idea in mind that you believe will have consequences and be in the midst of writing the thread, however you want to know what those consequences will be for threads going forward. Or you might still be in the planning stages and would like to know how things might pan out. That's also what this post is for!

Example: "At the end of this event my character is planning to not rejoin the train and instead ride off into the sunset! What happens?"

After this particular part of Tony's conversation about the council meeting, he's going to attempt over the next few days to get a separate 'channel' of some kind with the ICP so people would be able to view the council meeting but not have to. He's also looking for ways to mute it so it's one sided for part of the time.

Is any of this possible? He'll likely recruit Feanor and several other 'techies' to help him.

So he wouldn't be able to make a new channel (this seems to be limitations of the ICP itself) however they could use the 'video to one carriage' function and let people know where to listen

He will be able to hack it so he can get it to record without someone physically stood there pressing the record button

Muting isn't possible though they should be able to temporarily break the sound so they can't hear the ICP in whatever carriage they are meeting in

Hello mods! So, little Alice is struggling with adjusting to rooming with complete strangers and so Older Alice offered to let her room with her. Little!Alice accepted.

I just wanted to know if this was okay or what might result from it!

That's fine!

She will wake up every morning in her own bed regardless but there is nothing stopping her leaving right away to return to big!Alice. She won't be able to enter big Alice's room on her own- someone that lives there will have to let her in.

Given that it's being asked about in this post- does SXT-2 get any metadata information about hearts next to people's names?

One piece of info I'm looking for is when the roster changes to reflect the heart- is it immediately at the time of death?

Yes it appears at the time of death.

SXT-2 will be able to see by looking at the meta data that for a short period of time (30 seconds or so) the entry went gold, before returning to full colour with the heart.

That's about all she'll be able to get though!

The peridexis at least TRIES to talk the train down from what it perceives to be a panic attack on the train's part.

... Will the train be able to know it's making the attempt?

Sure! She can phase through them find (though they are attached to the walls and so she might phase through those too, except for ICPs on the outer walls, where she won't get through the walls obviously.)

What sorts of things can she normally tell when she phases?

Would she usually be able to find information from a technological device if it was switched off?

Basically the connection will be cut off. Like a much less violent, less dramatic version of what happened after the aborted mission.

For phasing, she can only really tell things that she'd be able to detect at a first glance. So she'd be able to see if the wires were disconnected or something, for example, but she wouldn't be able to look up any information of any tampering with the software unless she was able to run diagnostics on it

Thank you. So when she phases through she will be able to tell:

They are all 'off' and there is no power going to them. However they are not broken. No wires are disconnected or damaged in any way, the machines themselves are not damaged at all either.

Sounds good! Would she be able to follow the wires of one terminal into the wall to try and see where they're all connected? I understand if she wouldn't be able to get to the main computer or source, but she'd definitely like to try!

Also sorry, another quick question! Are the ICPs the only thing currently affected, and would Kitty be able to see perhaps other wires and things connected to different things the train, and notice they're still running?

Yes she could follow the wires through the wall- they go into the floor and run through the train. She would be able to follow them all the way to the wall of the engine carriage where she wouldn't be able to go any further. There are also other wires and pipes for water, air filteration etc. All of those are working fine.

Rapunzel has started to paint on the walls of Sleeper 4 Cabin E at least the area where her bed is with some paintings.
