Character Shenanigans!

Sometimes things happen that may have consequences further down the line. Sometimes characters decide to do things that might have immidiate reprecussion. As mods we want to have our fingers on the pulse of the game as it were, but we are also aware that we won't be able to read every single thing!

So that's where this post comes in. If your character has done something 'noticable' that you think we might need to know about, throw us a link here. Some might require a response, some will just be noted.

Example: "Over *here* my character is trying to smash the windows of the engine!"

Sometimes you might have an idea in mind that you believe will have consequences and be in the midst of writing the thread, however you want to know what those consequences will be for threads going forward. Or you might still be in the planning stages and would like to know how things might pan out. That's also what this post is for!

Example: "At the end of this event my character is planning to not rejoin the train and instead ride off into the sunset! What happens?"

Manabu would like to open up some floor panels in cabin 1:B to see if he can observe any electronics/piping/mechanisms! Please advise of any hindrances/hijinks possible.

The floor in the cabins is made of two large panels - one from door to centre and one from centre to window. There is no obvious way to open them (handles etc) but it can be done by applying some leverage and brute strength to the seams. The one nearer the door will be easier as it doesn't have the table leg to contend with but it will be awkward and might need more than just him.- He can probably lever it to slide on top of the second panel somewhat but just lifting it up will be tricky because the beds, even when folded, are a hindrance. Of course he could cut a section out if he had the right equipment...

However if he manages to get under it he will see mostly what he expects to. Pipes that are likely for heating/water run length ways and a series of wires to various points (two lead towards the table, he can probably guess to power the ICP, others towards the walls).

Let me know if he wants to fiddle with any of the wiring and good luck putting your room back together Manabu!

Hey so Tony is wanting to put together an inventory list for supplies available on the train and a questionnaire to start finding possible patterns in who was abducted by the train monsters (joking). I'm guessing the inventory list isn't going to be a problem as you've pretty much spelled it out already in the setting details, but would it be possible/ okay to get some kind of thing posted somewhere for people to do IC?

He is very welcome to do so! There is no ability to type on the ICPs but he can definitely make an inventory and questionnaires using his notebook.

When you mean posted do you mean a static post? Like on the mod journal where the information can be archived?

Yes, that's what I mean. I'm not familiar with how to make one of those, but I'm sure I can get someone to help me with it. But maybe we could put it in the OOC area or something? Obviously it would be optional as some characters will refuse to do it, I'm guessing.

So I think the best way to do this is Tony sets something up IC (handing out questionnaires or whatever) and you put up a post on his journal with the questionnaire for people to fill out and include a link in whatever you set up IC (or make an ooc post about it). Send me the link to that and I will make some kind of 'player project' page and link to it! An inventory can also be made and linked there too along with any similar things characters want to make.

Tony Stark has offered to fix Manabu's pistol side arm (it is a laser pistol) -- would it be okay to have that weapon in working order?

Yes, if Tony is able to find the tools (he can find basic tools on the world they are on if the offer was made during/before then) then he should be able to fix it and it can be in working order.

When do you suspect the next world event? I'm wondering about Tony organizing a party. Just, you know, because he gets bored and likes to party.

Sounds good to me but maybe ask around first? See what they would prefer. Before the next world is fine though the 16/17th of August are a train event so date wise probably avoid those!

Hey Morgan,

I am guessing here you are asking for small places on the train?

The whole train is pretty tight and cramped including the bedrooms. The smallest places are the trunks/cases in the storage carriage but the only way she would end up in there without climbing in one or another character putting her in one would be if she died or disappeared on hiatus as they wake up in them.

Other small places include the dumb waiter (again she would have to climb into it) or the bathrooms (probably more feasible), there is one larger bathroom at the front end of each sleeper carriage with a shower but they are still pretty small. The other side has single toilets (and there are more scattered across the train) which are just big enough for a toilet, a sink and someone to stand between them.

Sounds good. If you set up a list (it can be on your journal if you want) and we can look at them and figure out a time scale between us!

Kumoko will turn the dressing room car into a spider nest. There's a six-foot-tall passageway kept clear through the carriage so you can get to the luggage car easily (unless you're taller than six foot. Weird!) and there's still access to the furniture, but otherwise it's a nest of comfy silk hammocks and beds.

Does it stay around overnight?

The dates for the gun and the glove look good. The hair dye and web fluid probably need things that they don't yet have on the train so having them as 'unsure' finish date sounds right for now!

For the Culin'e'ai missions, Renee's not sticking with Purple and there's an off chance she's with one of the other teams at any given time. For example she was with Blue during one of the nights during the middle of the missions, and she went to give a status report to Tony with Red as well.

Alright! She can fly so that's fine, though depending on how fast she can fly it's still going to be a couple of hours flight between Culin'e'ai and Um'i'les. Once team purple get to the keep is she sticking around or returning to the blue or red team?
